Ron Parker
How does someone become an artist when they hadn’t been drawing instinctively from an early age? In the case of Ron Parker, it was simply a matter of self- preservation. Wildlife became so familiar to him while on nature walks with his son that they pressed the issue. "When the animals started crawling up my leg," he says, "I started painting them."
He was named "Artist of the Year" for the 1994 Vancouver International Wildlife Art Show, was commissioned by the Royal Canadian Mint to create sea otter images that would appear on coins and his paintings have been repeatedly selected for the prestigious Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum’s exhibitions.

Creekside Cougar
24 1/2" x 36"
Limited Edition 246/950
Was: $195 - Now 25% Off!
New Price: $145 CAD
At one time, the cougar roamed all of North America except in the Arctic. However, because of hunting and habitat destruction, the cougar is now found mainly in the mountainous areas of the West. Commonly called the mountain lion, its name is a reflection of its current distribution.
In the arid areas of the Southwest, cougars are more rare and less likely to be seen. When hiking in the Sonoran desert, I came across this bouldered spot in the creek bottom and knew that it would make an ideal setting for the Creekside Cougar." - R.S. Parker

Limited Edition 304/950
Was: $85 - Now 25% Off!

"Although less conspicuous than its male counterpart, the female cardinal is no less beautiful. The delicate olive gray of the female blends with subtlety into the red of the wings, tail and crest that so dominate the male's colouring. Also, like its colouring, the female cardinal's song is softer than that of the male." - R.S. Parker

Deep Water Orcas
16" x 32"
Limited Edition 223/1250
Was: $170 - Now 25% Off!
New Price: $125 CAD - SOLD
"One summer we spent a day on the water at Johnstone Strait, off the east coast of Vancouver Island, and saw more than 20 orcas from three different family groups. The whales were feeding, breaching, lobbing (a term given to the whales' pounding of the surface of the water with their tail flukes) and swimming. At times there were whales on all sides of the boat. It was a thrilling experience for all on board. In Deep Water - Orcas I depicted a small group of whales swimming slowly past a rock wall that descends almost perpendicularly into the water." - R.S. Parker

Gray Wolf in Winter
21 5/8" x 27 1/2"
Limited Edition 194/300
Was: $170 - Now 25% Off!
New Price: $125 CAD
With the morning light at its back, a thickly furred Gray Wolf stops by a stream now flowing with the beginning of the Spring breakup.
The Gray Wolf or Timber Wolf is the largest of the Canids in North America. Although once roaming over most of North America, trapping, hunting and poisoning have drastically reduced the population of wolves. The Gray Wolf now survives in few pockets in the Continental U.S.A., across Canada except near the American Border, and in Alaska.
North Central British Columbia and Northern Vancouver Island support healthy wolf populations with scattered populations throughout the rest of the province." - R.S. Parker

Winter Cloak - Ermine
17 1/2" x 24"
Limited Edition 580/950
Was: $140 - Now 25% Off!
New Price: $105 CAD
"The ermine, or short-tailed weasel, has long been admired for its white winter coat. Its beautiful, soft white fur coat has made it greatly desirable and the prime target of trapping. It has been established that the coronation robe for King George VI was made of 50,000 ermine pelts.
In winter, ermine like to travel under the snow for insulation and also to pursue meadow voles or mice. They surface to bound along on top of the snow as well and will stop momentarily to look around before dashing on their way. They are very quick and often are just seen as a blur of motion." - R.S. Yellow Dawn - American Elk
22 3/8" x 16 3/4"
Limited Edition 228/550
Was: $150 - Now 25% Off!
New Price: $110 CAD
"An October snowfall blanketed the valley and mountains as this group of elk moved across the shallow river. The rising sun cast a yellow glow to the sky and shone on the ridges of newly fallen snow.
The elk or wapiti is the second largest member of the deer family in North America and is an abundant game animal in the Rocky Mountains. A century ago, the elk had been almost wiped out in its northern range by overhunting. Their habit of congregating in large bands made them easy prey for hunters." - R.S. Parker
