G. Harvey
G. Harvey grew up in the rugged hills beyond San Antonio, Texas, where herds of longhorn cattle were once driven up dusty trails to the Kansas railheads. In fact, his grandfather was among the hardy men who created a uniquely American legend -- the Texas cowboy. Consequently the American West is not only the artist's birthright, but also the source of much of his work in oils on canvas and in bronze sculptures. G. Harvey's skilled use of light with his dramatic settings, plus his considerable talent and persistent striving toward perfection have placed him and his work at the forefront of late twentieth century American art. The artist's subject matter has also influenced a worldwide enthusiasm and demand for art from the American West.
